Techland has announced that Dying Light 2 will no longer be hitting its December window but instead will be arriving for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on February 4, 2022.
The news came in the form of a statement from the company today, which revealed it needed a bit more time to "polish and optimise it" ahead of its release.
To make the blow a bit easier, several previews of the game will be coming over the next few months from content creators and the press, so it should hopefully whet your appetite with more news and gameplay.
In the meantime, a new Dying Light 2 trailer dropped last month which delved into the game's parkour, zombie killing and the world you'll be exploring. Let's hope the wait is worth it.

Q1 2022 gets busier by the day. NO shade thrown, the pandemic will have delayed a lot of Q3/4 games.
But I'm now wondering whether anyone will delay their games again/deliberately just to avoid all the others. Not sure i've ever seen a busier first quarter.
2022 will have further delays, there's just too many games releasing next year. So sales will have lots of impact.
Huge miss for them. They had a great first game that was helped by a dead January release. Now they will be lost in the noise of all the releases in Feb/March. Unfortunate. This game has been in a development quagmire for a long time.
That's fine with me as theres a lot coming out already that I want, also February is looking good for me, dying light 2 and horizon forbidden west
2022 is starting to be the year that everyone wins. Xbox, PS4, Series X, PS5, PC, we all get awesome games heading out way. Of course, gotta shout to Gamepass who will be offering even more, thus saving you from going bankrupt
I’m not surprised I thought the recent trailer looked rough. The combat alone looked janky and awkward.

Pretty sure the release date was originally slated for 7th Dec so I wonder if this is partly to get out of Halo's way?

Gutted, but not really surprised. Every other game is getting delayed, but at least we have a bumper 2022 to look forward to!
I’m sure knowing Halo was going to launch the day after made their decision to delay a LOT easier.
