Update: Well, this is a nice little bonus! Even if you've used up all of your 10 hours of free trial time for Madden NFL 22 with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, EA is now providing "unlimited access" to the title until Tuesday night.

As you can see, the reason for this is because some players have been having issues with their Madden 22 early access timers running down on Xbox without them realising, which EA ended up providing a workaround for.

Fortunately, EA's support team "worked closely with Microsoft" to extend the trial. Great news!

Original story: Madden NFL 22 doesn't take to the field until August 20th, but if you want to try it early, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can now download the game for free and play 10 hours of the experience prior to launch.

This is a perk of the EA Play program, and includes the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions of the game, so you can take your pick. All you need to do to download it is head to the Madden NFL 22 game page on the Xbox Store and select 'Free Trial', however it is very difficult to locate — here's how we found it:

How To Find The Madden NFL 22 Free Trial On Xbox

  1. Go to the Microsoft Store app on your Xbox
  2. Search for 'Madden NFL 22'
  3. Find the standard version for your console and select it (eg. Madden NFL 22 for Xbox One)
  4. Scroll down the page to 'In This Bundle' and select the first option
  5. You should now see the ability to get the 'Free Trial' for Madden NFL 22

New features for Madden 22 include a redeveloped Franchise mode that "makes players feel more connected and in control of their team," an all-new single player campaign and avatar progression system for The Yard, a new story, player class system, the option to play on the defensive side of the ball as a linebacker in Face of the Franchise, and more.

This is all built around something called Dynamic Gameday, which uses special Atmosphere, Gameday Momentum and Next Gen Stats: Star-Driven AI features to "make the game more immersive, authentic and keep it fresh year-round.”

Any progress you make in the trial will carry over to the full release, so make those ten hours count!

Whether you’re strategizing for a matchup in the redeveloped Franchise mode, going head-to-head in Play Now, or competing online in Madden Ultimate Team, you’ll feel Dynamic Gameday impact gameplay everywhere in Madden NFL 22.
