Killer Instinct Official Website Update Has Some Fans Excited

Although the latest Killer Instinct game might still seem relatively new compared to certain older entries in the series, it's technically an Xbox One launch title - released all the way back in 2013.

Since then, it has received a number of updates including new levels, modes and fighters. The last major update in October made the game "fully backwards compatible" with Xbox Series X|S, and beyond this point, it's gone quiet.

Fans are naturally eager to see what's next for Rare's fighting series, and the latest update comes in the form of a tweet from the official game account, stating how the look of the official Killer Instinct website has been updated to comply with global accessibility standards.

While many have taken this information at face value, some other fans are questioning if it's a sign...

We'll admit, it's probably best not to get too carried away in this particular case, but it is always exciting when this fighting series - with so much history, we might add - is acknowledged.

Earlier this year, there was a rumour doing the rounds that Microsoft was keen for a new Killer Instinct game, but no developer was available to work on it. Months on, Iron Galaxy said it would definitely consider returning to the series if given the opportunity. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has also publicly shown interest in reviving Killer Instinct in the future.
