During Gamescom last week, we got treated to the reveal of a beautiful Halo Infinite limited edition Xbox Series X console. It's stunning and even comes packed with a special 20th anniversary Halo controller. Following the announcement, Halo fans have desperately wanted to see the controller sold separately, but it isn't looking likely.
A thread from Stallion, the first Xbox user to reach one million gamerscore, has sparked an extreme amount of interest in the controller. This is not to be confused with the Halo Infinite Xbox Elite Controller that was announced at the same time, but the one exclusively tied to the limited edition Xbox Series X console. Many are saying they'd buy it in a heartbeat, but unfortunately, it's tied behind a pricy (and hard-to-find) console bundle.
The interest doesn't seem to be encouraging Xbox to make the controller available separately either, as senior marketing manager Josh Munsee has confirmed it will not be available to purchase on its own.
Another user was quick to mention that Xbox has previously made Halo controllers purchasable on their own outside of their limited edition consoles, but it doesn't appear to be the case this time around.
Perhaps the demand will encourage Xbox to make the Halo 20th anniversary controller a separate item, but as it stands, it looks like you'll have to put down some money on a shiny new Xbox Series X to grab one.
Would you like to see the Halo controller made available to purchase? Let us know in the comments below.

Don't want to spend the extra money on an 'elite' controller & with how hard it is to get a regular Xbox series X most of the limited edition consoles will most likely end up in the hands of scalpers
It doesn’t bother me. Sure I’d love the console or any of the controllers. But I also have an X and three perfectly fine controllers.. I’d love to see a company rather then sell to scalpers just auction them off it it’s super limited and donate the extra money. Some bands like RATM did it this way. But some collectors are never even going to use this and store it away and try and sell it in 30 years for a million dollars. Aren’t those collectors the same as scalpers?
I like this controller and would think of buying it if sold outside of the console "bundle" but as i already have an XSX, no way for me to buy it currently (other than buying the console and then selling my current XSX on etc which i wont be doing)
Would make sense to sell it separate.
Does it have the rubberised grip or just the standard knurled grip.
The new Aqua controller has the rubberised grip.
Just print them, we will pay well into 2023
I honestly don't get the appeal. Had they went back to the OG Xbox design and made a translucent green Series X, I would have totally bought it to match my Elite Series 2 controller.
I want the standard controller, but figure it won’t happen. Maybe they’ll release a different but also cool one.
