It's been a fantastic month for Xbox Game Pass, and one of the additions that might have gone under your radar is Raji: An Ancient Epic, an action-adventure game set in ancient India which has been receiving plenty of praise.
Xbox fans have been taking to social media to share their thoughts on the game, and even head of Xbox Phil Spencer has been playing over the past few days, responding to a message from the team by saying it "looks great":
If you haven't heard of it, Raji: An Ancient Epic was created by Nodding Heads Games out of India, and is a top-down action-adventure game infused with Hindu and Balinese mythology. It features tightly packed battles against ferocious demons and bosses, ancient puzzles, massive forts and palaces and a story based around two siblings.
You can try Raji: An Ancient Epic on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S with Xbox Game Pass, and it's also available on the PC version of the service, along with Xbox Cloud Gaming on mobile and PC. So much choice!

Definitely on the list to play!
I will buy it just to support them. Game does look phenomenal.
It looks like a different game to the switch version. Gorgeous.
Playing through it at the minute. It’s a beautiful game, ever so slightly clunky in places but well worth a play imo.
I just finished the game and overall I thought it was a great experience! It's a breath of fresh air compared to other games we see today. Really liked learning more about Hindu mythology as well. Definitely go check it out if you haven't!
I just beat it a day or two ago. Very good looking game, and the added educational aspects were a bonus. I really enjoyed listening to the stories about Hindu religion and mythology. That said, don't expect the combat to be great. It works, but you will end up finding a favorite weapon and just spamming the dodge button.
@SplooshDmg Haha sounds like an awesome guy! I think whether it's through meeting new people or just experiencing through video games, it's so interesting to learn more about other cultures. I mean, I can just imagine how much people from this site have learned about the Japanese culture after playing the Yakuza games. Going forward I really hope to see more games based on different cultures like Raji.
Damn, yous! Just started death's door and ender lilies, now this? Then the ascent?! First world problems
@PhhhCough I know there are so many good indie games on Xbox right now.
Hey how are you liking Ender Lillies? It looks good but I also feel like it’s flying under the radar a bit.
Great you're giving this some attention. Last Stop is also worth checking out - not much gameplay perhaps, but a gripping storyline!
@mousieone I just started, couple of hours in. Graphically, it's beautiful. Controls are solid. The sound and audio is top notch. The story is intriguing, I wanna know why things are the way they are. All in all, a good time. Worth the $25, in my humble opinion
@Bartig I started Last Stop yesterday and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's one of the only times I've seen a game show "real" London without all the glitz added by other games set there.
Discovered the game a week ago. Haven't played the demo yet but I'm very excited after hearing all this praise
