Every week a list of Steam's Global Top Sellers is released, and the week ending June 27 showed that in the top five, three of the titles belonged to Xbox Game Studios titles.
As seen on the Steam Database, Sea of Thieves skyrocketed from 9th to the top position last week, following the launch of its A Pirate's Life expansion. Not only that, but both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Forza Horizon 4 emerged for the first time in a while - the former sitting at 5th with the other just above at 4th.
While Sea of Thieves has been in the top sellers list for a fair few weeks now, this is a resurfacing for both of the other titles. Both had great launches on Steam and have seen some peaks, with Forza Horizon 4 breaking the Top Sellers chart in the first 24 hours of its arrival. If anything, it proves that fans are hungry for both Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5, attempting to scratch that itch ahead of their release later this year.

Big fan of Microsoft pushing all their gaming platforms. People talk about consoles but never operating systems.
For a company with "no games" they seem to be doing fairly well on a platform with limitless competition.
I'm just wondering what the reason was for the sudden surge of purchases of these great games. Was there a sale? Was it E3 and being a larger part of the conversation?
With the exception of Sea of Thieves none of them had been in the top 10 in the preceding 10 weeks

Mostly due to sales on all those games ranging from 33% off to 50% off.
Sea of Thieves is 33% off on Steam plus the Pirates of the Caribbean free update launched.
Forza Horizon 4 is 50% off on Steam plus popularity boosted thanks to #5 shown at E3.
Halo MCC is 50% off on Steam plus probably hype of Halo Infinite at E3.
