In April, the team at Mojang made the tough decision to break its anticipated Caves & Cliffs update for Minecraft into two parts to ensure it lived up to expectations.
For anyone who has been wondering how development is going, Mojang has now announced the first part will arrive next week across all platforms - including the Xbox and Windows devices - on 8th June.
Players can look forward to new creatures including axolotls, goats and glow squid, and also new blocks like amethyst, dripleaves and copper. This update will also include a spyglass - allowing players to see far and wide.

Guess it’s time to opt out of beta then, my daughter’s been loving it (axolotl the most, I think copper roofing and the spiced up caves are nice) but not being able to join older builds of the game (which all of her friends run)… not really worth it. I don’t get it, it’s not like Minecraft requires a huge chunk of disk space… why can’t I have two builds simultaneously installed?
Still waiting for the native XBSX version.
I really wonder where ray tracing is. Surely these consoles can pull that off no? I mean it's been out on PC for a while now.
Now we can craft lightning rods, too! ⚡
