It's a big day for Resident Evil fans! The latest entry in the series, Resident Evil Village, is now officially available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, available from the Microsoft Store for £54.99 / $59.99.
Here's a bit of blurb about what you can expect:
"Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again."
We've already been hands-on with Resident Evil Village as part of our full review, stating that it "may not quite live up to the highs of its terrifying predecessor but is still a solid entry in the long-running series that's well worth checking out."
Don't forget that you can get 6000 free Microsoft Rewards Points for both Resident Evil Village and Mass Effect Legendary Edition when buying those games digitally via the Microsoft Store, and if you're playing on Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, keep in mind that ray tracing is actually disabled by default when you start the game.

I've had a pre order down for ages but just recently cancelled it.
I'm super excited for the game, I'm a massive Resi fan, but the sheer volume of awesome Gamepass games right now means I already have so much to play! I have my sensible hat on it seems.
It makes me wonder how often this happens to other Xbox gamers? 🤔
I seriously don't get why people don't rent games...i swear alot of people don't realise you still can....my rental got despatched for it yesterday so should be here today....you can get all the new releases day 1 and it only costs me £9.99 a month..you can keep the game aslong as you need...il play it compete it then get either mass effect or biomutant....so 2 brand new game in a month for £9.99 as opposed to buying them both for what £100
Actually I just finished it today (had a review code) and I must say, I really loved this game! It was definitely more action that RE7, but everything about it was great. The design, atmosphere, enemies' variety, environments, characters, boss fight, etc. It had a RE4 vibe to it and in my opinion, it was as well made as RE4 too.
I'll be getting mine later down the road, I still have to finish a few of the other RE before i jump into this one..
Just checked the status on Amazon, and it was marked "Out for Delivery" at 8:09AM EST
I'll get it at some point down the line. I'd rather play it on Series X when I buy one.
@Xenomorph_79 I use boomerang rentals ...pay 10.99 for priority subscription..and I think only a once I haven't got a new release day 1 or 2 depending on post
@StylesT @Xenomorph_79 I also use Boomerang rentals and would suggest going to a priority tier as soon as you can.
I pay £30 month for priority 4, 4 games at a time with new releases and priority, in the last 15 days I've rented resident evil village, persona 5 strikers, nier replicant and monster hunter rise, if I bought those 4 games it would of cost me over £160.
You need to check the coming soon games section regularly and add games to your list as soon as they go on the site, they send the new games to who ever is on priority and whoever added the titles to their list first.
