It's only been out since last Friday, but Capcom has confirmed today that Resident Evil Village has already shipped over 3 million units worldwide, saying it has "captivated fans worldwide and delivered a strong start to sales."
Further details weren't provided, but as revealed by GfK Entertainment (thanks GamesIndustry.biz), Village was the second biggest boxed launch of the year in the UK, and is already No.3 on the all-time Xbox Series list for boxed sales in that region, sitting only behind Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and (surprisingly) Immortals Fenyx Rising.
Here's a bit of what Capcom had to say about the sales figures in a press release:
"Built with Capcom's proprietary RE ENGINE, the game maximizes the potential of next-generation devices to deliver stunning, photorealistic visuals while utilizing cutting-edge audio technology. This, along with praise for the deeply immersive experience from fans following the game's demo, resulted in worldwide shipments of the title surpassing 3 million units."
How are you getting on with Resident Evil Village? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Only played just over 2 hours so far, but it's been superb.
Graphically looks amazing with RT on using Series X.
I've also been using the new Xbox headset with Atmos and the sound design is excellent for this game.
Really well deserved they've shipped so many copies already.
And 80% of its sales have been on playstation which maybe shows xbox/pc players are likely less interested in the resident evil franchise?
Completed it last night and it was a really good but short game, I wouldn't say it's better than 7 though
@UltimateOtaku91
Sure you don't mean aren't? If sales are 80% on PlayStation and only 20 on xbox I would say that shows little interest
People I knuw have taking between 8-12 which is good for these types of games and a lot of people don't have time for another 50-100 game
I think the concept of game pass ultimate makes us Xbox owners think twice bout purchasing a full price new game.
I currently just about to start Outriders, whilst playing Forza Horizon 4 on the side.
Therefore currently I don’t need another game.
But I will get round to playing it some day soon.
I do purchase new games like assassins creed Valhalla day one. But it has to be a firm favourite for me to do so now.
@UltimateOtaku91 @suikoden If I recall correctly the UK sales charts only reports Physical sales period. PC sales are only Digital. It might effect the Xbox numbers as well but it’s clearly going to effect PC sales.
@suikoden sorry I missed out the word "less" interested
@UltimateOtaku91 Not sure what you can take from it but if 80% sales are PS and 20% pretty much Xbox last Gen and current gen and this is the 3rd biggest box sales for Series X then does it mean that hardly any games being sold on Series X (generally) potentially? In my case I probably won't ever buy an Xbox game ever while I'm on game pass which is a stat for me but these figures makes me think this is what a majority of people with a Series X think?
With cap om and a roll the last 2 games I payed for are monster hunter rise and resident evil village if its good I will back the developer despite having games pass.
@StonyKL yeah maybe your right but that's a big gamble given that not every game is going to be on gamepass and some will take years before they get added so your basically waiting even longer for games your looking forward to playing
I would say it's starting to become my favorite Resi game, even liking it more than 4, which has always been my favorite. That's how much I am liking it lol
