Halo The Master Chief Collection

For some time now, Halo: The Master Chief Collection players on console have been requesting mod support - similar to what Bethesda offers in Skyrim and Fallout 4 on Xbox platforms.

Will developer 343 Industries ever offer Halo players something like this on Xbox Series X|S though? In the latest 'MCC development and flighting update', 343's community support and engagement coordinator "Postums" touched on the recent support to allow Halo Custom Edition maps in the PC version.

While this is just the beginning of the developer's mod work this year, unfortunately, it's also been confirmed that at this point in time, there are "no plans" to bring mods across from Halo: MCC on PC to console. There's a chance this could change in the future, but right now, the focus is on improving the PC experience before even evaluating it for console.

"As of right now, there are no plans to bring mods down to console from PC. Our goal for this year is to roll out and improve the modding experience on PC before we begin evaluating how we would, should we choose to, bring that to consoles. We have seen quite a bit of chatter around it and want to set expectations accordingly that as of right now, there is no official plan of record to make it so. This could possibly change in the future, but it is not in the current roadmap."

So, there you have it - even if mod support is eventually offered in the Halo: Master Chief Collection on console in the future, don't expect to see it anytime soon. Is this a feature you've been eager to see make the transition across to the Xbox versions? Leave a comment below.
