We're big fans of the destruction-fuelled Wreckfest here at Pure Xbox, but if there's one criticism we have of it, it's that it doesn't run particularly well at just 30FPS. Well, as of today, that has all changed on Xbox Series X!

Developer BugBear Entertainment has confirmed the game has now been upgraded to 4K at 60 frames per-second on Xbox Series X, but it's only Xbox Series X - the Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5 have not received the same upgrade, although the Xbox Series S version is confirmed to now run at 4K, 30 frames per-second.

"We also have good news for the owners of the new, shiny Xbox Series X. We're happy to let you know that we have added specific support for this serious piece of hardware, meaning that from now on you get to enjoy Wreckfest rendered at 60fps in the full glory of 4K. Obviously 60fps makes a significant difference in a racing game, so if you're lucky enough to own a Series X what are you waiting for!"

In addition to the Xbox Series X upgrade, a new tournament has also been added to the game called Woodland Dash (you can watch the trailer above), along with new routes, a new car, and improvements and bug fixes.

Don't forget that Wreckfest was recently added to Xbox Game Pass, so you can check out this upgrade right now if you're a subscriber to the service. We think 60 frames will make a huge difference to the game!
