Can you believe it's been three whole years since Sea of Thieves first launched? To celebrate, Rare has loads of free goodies in store for players this weekend, and the game is on sale at 50% off for the next few days.
Notably, anyone who logs into the game between now and March 25th will receive the Prosperous Captain’s Sails for free. If you're an Xbox Game Pass member, you can also get the Jump for Joy emote from now until March 21st, and Game Pass Ultimate members can also claim an Ocean Crawler Bundle Xbox Game Pass Perk!
In addition, the game will be running a special Gold and Glory Weekend, and the final update to Season One goes live today, introducing a free ROFL emote and a weekend-long grand anniversary Emporium sale.

One of the jewels in Xbox's crown.
My friends and I have played this regularly now for years and we have SO many incredible memories!
The game is an absolute joy.
Co-operative, sandbox gaming just doesn't get any better than this
I've been holding off playing this for a while as I'm not sure I'd like the ship battles, I'm more into exploring islands and doing side quests
@UltimateOtaku91 The dynamic player interactions are the core of SoT gameplay. Deep story quests and advanced mechanics are not. It's certainly worth giving it a go though
@UltimateOtaku91 I play solo just to chill sometimes if I can't be bothered playing anything else. Bit of digging for treasure, finding random treasure scattered on beaches, some fishing while a brigantine attacks a sloop in the distance (happened yesterday lol), and making sure I have a rowboat so I can sink my ship to avoid drawing other players. I just play mainly to wander about aimlessly and enjoy the water and art style.
I wonder how much of that 20 million are active players. Like I know I downloaded the game off Game Pass and played it for a bit but it wasn't my thing and I deleted it.
