Subnautica Below Zero, a heavily anticipated continuation of the Subnautica series, is set to dock on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on May 14th.

It’s been in early access on PC for a few years, but now it’s swimming across to consoles for the first time in it’s completed form. Unlike the original Subnautica, Below Zero acts as a new standalone adventure, allowing players to explore the land as well as the sea. It aims to offer more methods of exploration in its unique, and sometimes terrifying world. Returning features such as hunger and thirst will also be brought back, alongside new elements, including having to manage your temperature on land. But much like the original, players can customise the experience to their liking.

“Unknown Worlds Entertainment presents the return to the world of 4546B with Subnautica Below Zero. Dive into a freezing underwater adventure on an alien planet.

Set one year after the original Subnautica, Below Zero challenges you to survive icy biomes both above and below the surface. Craft tools, scavenge for supplies and unravel the next chapter in the Subnautica story.”

The first game is available now in Xbox Game Pass and is a fantastic hidden gem. It gives you an extraordinary sense of freedom, while also providing a great narrative adventure. If you haven’t checked it out, Game Pass is a perfect excuse to dive in.
