For anyone who hates cables flying around everywhere, third-party company HyperX is bringing an officially licensed controller charging station to the Xbox Series X|S and it looks pretty slick.
During the Consumer Electronics Show, the company unveiled a new line of gaming peripherals, with the HyperX ChargePlay Duo Controller Charging Station for Xbox being one of the leading announcements. With a retail price of $39.99, it's set to launch in the US from February. There's no word on international markets as of yet.
It looks very reminiscent to the original Xbox One version HyperX previously released, but as a press release points out, "two additional battery doors will be included to fit onto Xbox Series X|S wireless controllers", meaning it has full compatibility between the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
The official press release reads:
"The Official Xbox licensed HyperX ChargePlay Duo is designed for Xbox and compatible with Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One wireless controllers. Two additional battery doors will be included to fit onto Xbox Series X/S wireless controllers. The product features a quick docking design on the weighted base and LED indicators that display charging status for each controller. Each ChargePlay Duo also includes two 1400mAH rechargeable battery packs."
Will you be picking one of these up as they become available? Let us know in the comments below.

I have no idea what companies are thinking with these charging station designs.
designs that make you take your chat pad or mic puck off.
They really need to take a page out of Microsofr's book where I can leave any accessory under the sun on my Elite Series 2 controller and it still fits on the charge base.
It wouldn't even be that hard. Make it so that the controller is rotated 180 degrees along the X axis and there wouldn't be any kind of issues.
