Peter Moore, the man who was the vice president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division during the original Xbox and Xbox 360 era, has joined Unity as the SVP and GM of Sports & Live Entertainment.
Announcing the news on Twitter, Moore said he was "delighted to be reunited with so many industry friends", and also teased that he will be working "some really cool stuff".
Xbox head Phil Spencer also commented to congratulate Moore on his new role.
Along with working at Xbox, Moore was also at one point the president of Sega of America and the head of EA Sports. After his time at EA, Moore also became the CEO of Liverpool Football Club, branching out from the digital gaming world. It will be interesting to see what he brings to Unity over the coming years.

The GTA IV on Xbox 360 announcement was legendary. This was around the time a lot of major third party franchises like it and Final Fantasy which were previously PlayStation mainstays finally went multiplatform and it was really funny seeing the reaction on internet forums back then from early PS3 adpoters
I learned to hate Moore during his EA tenure, but he really oversaw some very cool stuff during his MS and Sega years. Unity's a bit of a different direction, but worth of mouth is devs really liked working with him, so I imagine that's a good move. And anything that bolsters strength competition against Tencent/Epic/Unreal monopoly power is a plus in general.
