One of the most impressive features of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S so far has been Quick Resume, which allows you to jump between multiple games without being required to load them again from scratch.
However, the service has suffered a few bugs during its first few weeks, and fans have also shared ideas on how to make it even better, which Microsoft is taking on board. Speaking as part of the Major Nelson podcast this week, Xbox director of program management Jason Ronald acknowledged the feedback directly:
"Another area that we're listening to feedback from the community is how gamers want to use Quick Resume. And we're really listening to that feedback. Some of the feedback we've heard is, the ability to know which games are Quick Resume enabled versus not, or knowing which titles have a current Quick Resume state saved off, and other ideas that players have.
We're continuing to listen to that feedback, and we're really at the beginning of the journey, so we'll have more updates to share to respond to this feedback in the coming weeks and the coming months."
Ronald also noted during the podcast that turning off Quick Resume for select titles was a calculated decision at launch, but the team has since reenabled the feature for more than 20 'Optimised for Xbox Series X|S' games including Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it will continue to do this with more titles over the coming days and weeks.
How are you finding Quick Resume on Xbox Series X|S so far? Let us know in the comments.

Must admit I'm a bit baffled that they needed feedback to realise this, but regardless it's still good to hear that improvements are in the works.
Interesting to hear it's supposed to have been turned back on for Valhalla - definitely still wasn't working for me yesterday, but I'll try again later!
I still can't get Quick Resume to work on Valhalla, though
A list of title currently with caches would be a no-brainier, I’d imagine... with a oldest gets ejected next or some kind of queue enabled and visible
I priority quick resume game would be nice. It would never get cleared no matter how many other games you play.
@Enigk I agree with this, and antifyre’s suggestion above, that there needs to be some visibility or else we can’t rely on it and could easily lose progress thought not saving.
@Popeye86 it worked in day 1 but now not so much
@AJDarkstar Look if you know someone at MS HQ you should have said something earlier.
@AJDarkstar no you mentioned in a previous one you weren’t entirely satisfied with QR and then this pops up with them taking about making changes.
It’s really pointless on Dark Souls. It ‘quick resumes’ you into the game > proceeds to tell you that you have been logged out of the server > performs a hard restart of the game.
@cbodz yeah most online games are like that.... It won't work with those unfortunately. Same with dark souls on switch in sleep mode fwiw.
The two games I switch between most are forza horizon 4 and fifa 21 with occasionally dips into Tetris.
Quick resume only works very very occasionally and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t.
QR is rock solid in Yakuza 7 and Ori2. Seems to never work with FH4 or tetris. I'm assuming fh4 is one of the games they've been taking about that they disabled it on purpose until the fix is ready. Maybe it'll get enabled soon.
It would be great if we could pin that one game that never leaves QR state, is never pushed out.
It's a great feature but in it's current state I would never rely on it in lieu of game saves. Thankfully MOST games now have frequent automatic checkpoints so it's less of an issue, it would be great if more/all did though. RPG's in particular which can go hours without a save.
For online games I understand logically why it kicks you, but it would be nice if it was possible to skip all the logos etc and jump straight to the title/continue screen. Same if QR fails.
