This past week's UK boxed charts saw just one new release in the form of Ubisoft's excellent Immortals Fenyx Rising, but it didn't get off to the best of starts, missing out on the top ten by a single place - finishing in 11th.
Elsewhere, it was very much business as usual at the top of the table. FIFA 21 retained its title for a second successive week, while Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War wasn't far behind. Assassin's Creed Valhalla also climbed an extra place into fourth spot, and Just Dance 2021 made its way into seventh.
Here's a look at the top ten all formats chart for the week ending December 5th:
Last Week | This Week | Game |

Too similar to Valhalla and released too closely.
Ubisoft should have saved this game until Jan/Feb when there's not much out.
@blinx01 agreed. The moment they delayed farcry it should have taken its place. The marketing was also pretty off.
Little disappointing for Immortals. It looks like a pretty fun game, imo.
@blinx01 How are Immortals and Valhalla similar?
Not really surprising, do we need a third Ubisoft open world in the space of a couple of months? Particularly with Cyberpunk right around the corner, though I'm surprised the Switch market didn't bump it up a bit more
@Lionyone
Both open world games literally using the same game engine as AC Odyssey, just modified.
Obviously looks more inspired by the recent Zelda game, but with Cyberpunk coming out, I think this game will unfortunately get neglected until it gets reduced in price next year.
This game is getting a lot of praise from reviewers and YouTubers. I'm sure this game will gain a lot more momentum outside its launch window.
Given the atmosphere, doubt we will see it reflect much on box sales. It's likely going to be mostly digital.
Other thing to consider: this is the first Ubisoft game in a long time to get a simultaneous Switch release. Any sale chart that looks at specific SKUs will be divided among 3 platforms instead of 2. Not sure if that impacts Ukie game charts.
Ubisoft overkill.
I'm not their target market as i ain't buyin nothin for a few years thanks to GPU but having just released two massive open world games with tons of bugs i believe people got turned off of it. I know that if I was looking to buy this I wouldn't because i would be expecting massive bugs based on ACV and watchdogs. I believe they wanted everything out before Christmas to try and cash in as much as they could... holding off until Jan or Feb would have most likely been better for them.
Could Immortals have launched at a worse time?
Within a month of Valhalla, 2 of Watch dogs and a week before Cyberpunk. Almost no marketing by comparison. A real shame for that team.
I haven't played it, but based on the reviews of people who's game opinions I usually match with this is the best game Ubisoft has put out this season. I'll be picking it up soon.
