The Next Generation Of The 'Designed For Xbox' Program Has Arrived

Microsoft has today announced the official beginning of the next generation for the 'Designed for Xbox' program, which focuses on building "the best possible accessories for Xbox across a range of categories."

As you can see from the image above, the official Xbox accessory packaging is getting a refresh - you'll now see a brand-new 'Designed for Xbox' logo on licensed partner accessories, which will "provide the best possible experience while gaming on your Xbox console, regardless of generation."

The company says it's working with over 34 gaming brands around the world on these, including some new additions such as Bang & Olufsen, Audeze, Otterbox, Nacon, Cable Matters, Honeycomb Aeronautical and Geek Made Designs, with more in the pipeline.

Furthermore, Microsoft is working hard with its partners to ensure continuous compatibility across as many products as possible, with any officially licensed USB (wired or wireless) or 3.5mm port accessory built for the Xbox One guaranteed to work on the Xbox Series X as well.

For headsets that use an optical port, the company advises that these may require a firmware update, while soundbars and headsets that don't receive updates may be connected directly to your television's optical port.

"We’re looking forward to the next generation of the Designed for Xbox program and working with partners to build the best possible accessories for Xbox in the future."
