There's been a lot of interest in Microsoft Flight Simulator ever since the "game" released to glowing reviews on PC and Xbox Game Pass last month, and while the game is confirmed to be coming to console eventually, we still don't have an official release date for it just yet. Hopefully it arrives soon!
In the meantime, Microsoft Flight Simulator head Jorg Neumann has been talking to Gaming Bolt in a new interview, reassuring fans that the Xbox version will be "just as amazing" as it is on PC:
“We are very confident that the simulator will be just as amazing on Xbox as it is on PC. Some things might even be better. Regarding the controller, our intent is to deliver a great experience using any controls you already have, so you can enjoy the experience with a gamepad as well as a mouse and keyboard. We’ll have more to share with you about the Xbox version of the simulator closer to launch.”
In regards to a date for the console version, Neumann provided some insight a couple of weeks ago on the Major Nelson podcast, explaining that the team is "working really hard to make this happen" and is "dedicated to come to Xbox (console)," but doesn't have a timeline to share quite yet.
Are you eager to take to the skies with Flight Sim on Xbox One / Xbox Series soon? Let us know below.

“Some things might even be better." 🤔🤩
@Z3u5000 Hopefully it's the load times...they are terrible!
@GamingFan4Lyf Since this is going to be a multi-year platform, wait for the upcoming updates (Ray Tracing, VR..). It will only get better with time.
I’ll buy my XBox S together with this game.
This game and gamepass will be a very nice addition to my Switch library!
I'm almost sure that it will be released for Series X and Series S but not for Xbox One, which is fine.
I have no doubt that the port will at the very least get close to matching the PC version, and being available at no extra charge on Xbox Game Pass permanently is a huge bonus. I know I will be sinking some time into this one.
Hopefully it comes out on the one, deffo interested in trying out this game!
It’s incredible, being able to spot areas you know irl is crazy. It really just feels like you’re flying around real life if the lighting’s right. Well, other than Buckingham Palace looking like an Ikea.
@BlueOcean Yeah I’d be pretty shocked if this came to Xbox One, the game is very demanding both graphically and in game-world size. I’m planning on playing it on the Series X anyway and it’s my most anticipated game even over Halo Infinite.
@MaccaMUFC Series X for me as well. Halo Infinite is the only game that has been re-confirmed for Xbox One since July's show and it's the only Xbox Game Studios AAA game that I expect to come to Xbox One. This will allow developers to focus on next-gen features easily.
I never thought I would be excited to play a flight sim game. But I will be happy when I can play this on my Series X.
They really need to get this out at launch IMO. Without Halo anymore, they need a heavy hitter to showcase the power.
I'll be picking it up in a few weeks when I get my RTX3090. Looking forward to playing the best version of it with that.
@GamingFan4Lyf and better compression, 100-150GB+ out of a less than 1TB, after system stuff, disc is a big chunk.
Still super-hyped for this on XSX
Can’t wait to take off from Edinburgh airport, zoom over (or under!) the bridges on the Firth Of Forth, then a wee flyby of my house before landing 😀
