While there's every chance we might learn of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's official release date at tomorrow's Ubisoft Forward event, it looks like it's been revealed a little early via a leak.
This comes from the official Assassin's Creed Italy Instagram account, which dropped the date in a short video before deleting the post from its social media. You can watch it for yourself below:
As you can see above, the game is said to be releasing for Xbox One on November 17th, which places it just a couple of days before the release of the highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 on November 19th. It remains to be seen whether this will be the release date for the Xbox Series X version as well.

The most anticipated and expensive third-party games of 2020 launch along the new consoles. It makes sense. I expect Series X release in November and PS5 in November or December.
Assassins Creed has enough clout not to be overshadowed by Cyberpunk so if it is correct I don't think Ubisoft need to be massively worried.
But a date that late... Kinda makes you think it has to be for the next gen versions too, right? One or both can't be launching any later than that I wouldn't expect. L
Cyberpunk looks a lot better than the new Assassin's Creed so I already know which I'll be playing
@BlueOcean Cyberpunk has 100x more anticipation for gamers including PC....it has literally become a cultural and social icon.
@SuperNintendoMii Last few gens of PS / XB have ALL launched around 10-22 November in NA. I expect nothing different, but as you said no later (Although was intrigued by the idea that XB might have tried to jump the start with an early release before covid interrupted, bold strategy)
@Z3u5000 That's right but I said that the two of them are the most anticipated third-party games of 2020 😅, not that Assassin Creed is more anticipated. But yes, I guess that Cyberpunk has the hype flying ☺️.
@themightyant I'd be very surprised if either are later than that tbh. I'm expecting late October/November for these two.
The rumoured surprise release was interesting. Considering the games aren't ready tho I'm interested to know how that would have played out.
@Z3u5000 there is literally no way this game can live upto the hype. I'm expecting it to be one of those polarising games in all honesty.
@SuperNintendoMii agreed on the surprise early release. I think MS had hoped to have a few first party titles (halo, forza, something new?) ready for launch but with COVID and the reality of 3rd parties not being ready this halted their plan.
I expect both to launch mid-November.
