Developer Phigames has announced that its 3D metroidvania-inspired hacking adventure game Recompile is coming to Xbox Series X, and you can watch the trailer for the game above.
You'll play as a sentient virus, trying to escape deletion in an effort to achieve sapience and ultimately create the first technological singularity. Recompile will challenge players to explore, fight, hack and survive, with its environment, narrative and AI all adapting to your play style along the way.
We don't have a release date for Recompile yet, but we'll let you know when we learn more.
Recompile takes place within the sprawling digital world of The Mainframe. Combining traditional metroidvania mechanics with a unique dynamic narrative system, the game challenges you to explore, fight, hack and survive.

Not going to lie, I was a little lost during that trailer. Then again, I did have to sneak watch it while I'm at work. I couldn't figure out what exactly was going on, but I do like the art style. I hope we get a demo of this during the Summer Demo Event later this month.
