It's official - Star Wars: Squadrons flies onto Xbox One this October and will include cross-play with the PS4 and PC.

If you're looking forward to participating in "intense 5v5" aerial dogfights in space but are a little concerned about what EA might include in the game after the launch events of Star Wars Battlefront II - worry not. According to GameSpot, the game will feature dedicated single and multiplayer modes with no microtransactions.

Here's the line that seemingly confirms this in EA's press release:

Star Wars: Squadrons will offer rich cosmetic and gameplay customization options with rewards and bonuses that are earned solely through gameplay.

While microtransactions might not necessarily be offered, there are still pre-order bonuses. If you lock in now, you'll get access to the New Republic Recruit and Imperial Ace cosmetic items on release.

Furthermore, EA will be revealing gameplay of Star Wars Squadrons on June 18 at EA Play Live 2020, so we'll catch you up with all the latest footage later this week.
