It was only yesterday that we learned Activision was sending out mysterious puzzle packages ahead of a presumed Crash Bandicoot 4 announcement, and now we've learned of its title (thanks Gematsu).
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has been rated for Xbox One in Taiwan, and according to the game's cover, it will also be playable (as expected) on Xbox Series X as well.
Interestingly, the sequel appears to be being developed by Spyro Reignited Trilogy developer Toys for Bob rather than N. Sane Trilogy studio Vicarious Visions, which is currently hard at work on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 remaster.
Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.

The Crash trilogy was excellent, hopefully this will be too.
Toys for Bob did a good job on the Spyro remaster, so they should get a new Spyro game out after this 😊
Oh cool! I still need to play these!
Vicarious Visions and Toys for Bob have both worked on Crash before while Beenox is more experienced at remastering but they made awesome new circuits for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Any of them is able to make a good new platformer unless they mess development up.
Okay, Microsoft, you know what to do, right? Banjo-Kazooie?
What do you think about these leaked games boxes not mentioning Series S? Will they be updated or is Series S father away than we think? Or cancelled? Yes, I l know that they can not put Series S on the box if it hasn't been revealed yet but still...
No Switch version, are the new third-party games skipping Switch because of the technical differences? I think that they will try to develop a Switch version later on but I'll get the best-looking version on Series X anyway.
@BlueOcean isn't series s rumoured to be a digital only machine? Maybe that's why there's nothing on the box. Review tech USA talked about it anyway.
As for the Switch version, meh, despite flying off the shelves and game sales being sky high, us Nintendo fans are still treated like second class gamers. Probably be like Spyro was, a year late with an 8gb mandatory download.
Can't wait for the return of the Bandicoot
@SuperNintendoMii Right!! I just realised. Series S will likely be all-digital, thus game boxes don't include its name because games will be available on the digital store only. Only thing is that there's space for another console name on the banner.
After the remasters, it'll be interesting to see how an original Crash game fares.
Ah this should be good, Toys for Bob did a great job with spyro But it did have a weird polka dot effect on the switch, not sure what it was like on other consoles, still an enjoyable game and I’m sure they’ll do well with this.
@BlueOcean I’m still yet to play a Banjo game but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it (apart from Nuts and Bolts) maybe I’ll check one out with the Rare Replay games
@WesEds Yes, you've heard well. Nuts and Bolts is good but it's not really a platformer but more a sandbox, the real fun is to build your own vehicles and win challenges with them. Of course, I prefer Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie: great platforming, characters, script, transformations, controls, graphics and music.
@TheNewButler I played them when I was a kid and always thought Spyro was superior. But I also thought Croc was better than Crash too. That needs to come back.
Having said that, CTR was soooooo much better than Mario Kart 64
