Croteam's Serious Sam 4 is due out this August on select platforms, but it appears Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait a little while longer.
The reason? While you'd be forgiven for thinking it's only ready to go on PC, according to the game's publisher Devolver Digital, it's actually tied to its period of exclusivity... specifically on the cloud gaming service, Google Stadia. This was revealed by a representative of the company in an email exchange with Kotaku:
"The game is still coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 after its period of exclusivity is over with Stadia"
So, how long will the wait be? The DD rep added that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 wouldn't be receiving the game until next year. That means it'll be appearing on both of these platforms after - yep, after - the release of the next-generation systems.
How do you feel about the Xbox One and PS4 release being delayed by Stadia's exclusive rights to it? Share your thoughts below.

They're going to make more money from the exclusivity deal than from people buying it on Stadia.
Well guess I won't be playing this then.
it’s difficult to judge by those passages of the gameplay yet rather mediocre. take the same Doom Eternal, how the game evolves, new mechanics, level design for how well everything is thought out. And here it looks like the locations as in the previous parts of the series, large square arenas.
So basicly no one will play this game until next year..
Google is using that Google $ to buy exclusives because they don’t have any studios themselves. This will probably continue to happen.
