Brand-New Gameplay To Be Revealed This Week For Xbox Series X Game Outriders

Square Enix has revealed that brand-new gameplay will be unveiled this week for upcoming Xbox Series X (and Xbox One) game Outriders, which is currently targeting a Holiday 2020 release date.

In a press release, the company revealed that the inaugural "Outriders Broadcast" will take place on May 28th at 6pm CEST on Twitch, and will feature brand-new gameplay, areas, never-before-seen powers, character class deep dives, development updates, and more. This will be the first in a monthly schedule of Outriders Broadcast shows, which will "dive deep into the various features of the dark and desperate world of Outriders."

If you've never heard of the game, Outriders is a 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter from People Can Fly, which previously co-developed Xbox 360 titles Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgement. The studio describes it as its "most ambitious shooter to date," with over 200 developers at four international studios said to be working on the project at the time of its announcement in June 2019.

Here's what Bartek Kmita, Creative Director at People Can Fly had to say about the broadcast:

“Obviously, things are a little bit strange in the world right now, and we’re all adapting the best we can. We’ve prioritized our people’s safety and all 250+ of us on the team are working from home and staying healthy. We’re still working hard on the development of Outriders and keeping on track for a Holiday 2020 release."

“With the cancellation of some of gaming’s biggest events of the year, we’ve looked for new ways to share news about Outriders with players. We’re really excited to present new details of what we’re working on every month from this point forward with the Outriders Broadcasts.“
