Via a new year round up blog post, Compulsion Games have confirmed that their intriguing We Happy Few will indeed launch via Xbox Game Preview in mid-2016.
The game was first announced in February 2015, and Microsoft showed the game during their Gamescom press briefing. It was initially rumoured by a couple of outlets that the game would hit Game Preview towards the back end of 2015. However, it appears that was never going to be the case. Since then, there's been some expansion to the scope of the game and a few changes to the Contrast developer's staffing setup, but the team will launch the game on Game Preview and Steam Early Access at the same time later this year. As for an exact date? Well, "mid-2016" is the best you're going to get for now.
The somewhat unnerving Gamescom trailer is below, so you can take a look and see what you should be looking forward to.
Without a doubt, We Happy Few is towards the top of our most anticipated list, and we'll bring you more launch information just as soon as we have it.

Why don't you care about what games everybody is playing this weekend?
This is my #1 most anticipated indie of 2016. 'Perception' being a close 2nd. This game looks like Bioshock with a twist, which is all I need to know.
I do hope they add more storyline as I heard this was more of a rogue-like, which I don't like as much. There is TONS of opportunity here to make this a very creepy game
@VioletTusk We didn't have time to get to it this weekend, I'm afraid. But worry not, WGAYPTW will return next week!
Really looking forward to this, was a big fan of Contrast, especially the period setting and art style. Have to say I'm disappointed that this will be debuting on the Game Preview programme rather than launching properly. Do we have any indication of how long it will remain a 'preview' game?
