Topic: XBOX ONE no longer needs Kinect

apparently it will play without having to have the Kinect connected, i hope that means a version of the console will be released without a kinect at a cheaper price

I'm just glad I can know it can't be used by any government to spy on us 24/7. If I get an Xbox One (exclusives will decide that after both systems start to build a good game library), I'll only be plugging in the Kinect if it's required for a game or improves it a lot.

This is good news all around. Many people were concerned about their privacy, and having the option to turn settings off or even to disconnect the device provides some peace of mind for those people. It's good that Kinect is still going to be packaged in with every X1, that way we will see Kinect functionality practically from every game developer (major and indie).

to be honest that was never a issue for me my issue was that if it had no features i wanted i would hardly use it just like i hardly used the original one so i didn't see the need to have it plugged in all the time

but i still feel that they could now release a Kinect free version at the same price as the PS4 and really give sony and the PS4 a run for it's money

MS has pretty much locked up the North American market with this move. I think as early as March and no later than June we'll see a Kinect-free package at $400. I'm going to wait it out though in hopes that next fall we get a nice Halo 5 themed Xbox One like the Reach and 4 models 360 got.

Well I will wait until they come out with the Kinect free bundle till then I will be playing my PS4.
