Topic: Games with gold

@BAMozzy: If I get Games with Gold/Plus games and I have an active subscription but I can't access my internet connection at a particular time, can I play those games or I need to get online every time I want to launch the games?

@VanillaLake For GwG on the Xbox One you need to have internet to play the games as it needs to verify the games license. I don't know about Plus as I've never had a Playstation.

@VanillaLake: @crippyd has answered and I believe its the same with PS+ too as the only way to check if your membership is still active is via the internet. Otherwise people could just download the games, disconnect and keep playing long after their subscription runs out.
I must admit, I haven't tried personally as all my consoles are connected and I don't let my membership run out.

@BAMozzy: It's logical, I guess. Well, if you want to know why I asked, the day my Xbox One Elite was delivered, I didn't have internet connection. I called the service provider and there were issues. I could not even set up the console as internet was required. Then I got the connection back and I could update the console but again I had trouble. I had purchased a few physical games already but I could not install any of them without internet running smoothly during the whole installation process, so I could not play anything at all during this fine first day!
