I thought it would be a good idea to have a seperate thread for the Xbox Series S to talk about the differences in games between the two systems and what games have impressed you. I've got a Series S and have been very impressed with what it can do for such a small console.
I think the best-looking game is Ori And The Will of The Wisps at 4K 60fps. Watch Dogs Legion also looks great with the ray-tracing. Some games I'm looking forward to are The Ascent, which looks amazing, and the Metro Exodus upgrade
Hey I just purchased my very first Xbox an I got the series S. I was going to wait till the x was available but I’m impatient an didn’t want to wait. I hope the S is awesome an I didn’t make a mistake by not waiting till the x was available.

I don't think you would regret it. The biggest upgrade over previous generations is in the frame-rate with most games being 60fps so they play a lot smoother. If you also get Game Pass with it, which i'd highly recommend, then try Ori And The Will of The Wisps
The series S is such an impressive piece of kit, especially when you take into account that its cheaper than a Switch!
I take mine to work to play on nights shifts as its so compact and easy to transport.
I have a series x but wanted to trade in my son's one x for a series s, saw the post on pure xbox about Game series s trade in offer and went there today one x in tow...clueless staff barely had any idea about the offer mumbled a few excuses about not having stock, no promotion posters advertising the offer, just don't see the point of advertising promotions given the current situation regarding stock...the staff member did try twice to get me to pay upfront in full for a series x(no sticky obviously) bit odd he didn't mention me paying upfront for a series s instead of trading in..
I am just thinking about getting the S and letting my son have my old one, but I have a few games that I play regularly on disc which requires me to put the disk in. If I move to the S, does that mean that I cannot play these anymore.
I've just got the next-gen update for Metro Exodus and it looks incredible with the ray-traced lighting and 60fps. Amazing they got this level of graphics from the Series S and shows how powerful it is. Highly recommended if you can get it and its a great game anyway
Resident Evil Village looks incredible on Xbox Series S. It truly shows that this console is nothing to scoff at. However, some "optimized" games like Control Ultimate Edition barely improve on the Xbox One S visuals.
@Beagle
Thanks for posting those links - it looks amazing. Can't wait to play this although I might need to delete or move something to make some space because it's around 100Gb i think.
If anyone is waiting for Psychonauts 2 on Game Pass (if not I would highly recommend it) then it's going to be running at 1620p 60fps or 1080p 120fps on Series S. It even beats the PS5 which doesn't get a native version
@Beagle
I'm excited about The Ascent, really looking forward to playing that and can't wait to play Psychonauts 2. Game Pass has got some cracking games out now.
