What generic headsets, if any (one speaker) works with the XSeX controller?

@Spider-Kev Believe it or not, most headsets (wired) work with Xbox - even my Playstation Pulse 3D headset works with a wired connection to the controller. MS have their own wired controller too and numerous 3rd party headsets are available too.

I'd recommend getting a decent Headset as you can get complete surround sound experiences. Some games, like Hellblade, really benefit from being played on a 'decent' headset so its not just about communicating with friends in a 'Multi-player' experience, it can really immerse you into a Single Player world, give you audio clues and provide a much richer soundscape. Xbox has a Wireless headset for a very reasonable price and is regarded as one of the best bang for buck options.

There are so many choices and options to suit practically any budget. It really depends on whether you just want to speak/hear what others say or all the way up to having fully surround sound with various modes to boost bass, footsteps etc, work with mobiles to take calls, work well for Music/Films too etc. But most with a standard headphone jack will work...

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@BAMozzy
I have a full 20odd Atmos setup. I just need something to be able to talk to people with.

@Spider-Kev Regardless, the information still remains applicable.

The vast majority of wired gaming headsets with the right Jack to connect to a Controller will work. You asked about which would work and the answer remains the 'majority'. If it worked on the XB1. it will work with Series X. If it has a standard 'headset' jack, it will probably work - even my PS5 'wireless' headset will work with my Series X as a 'wired' headset connected to my controller...

So whether you have an amazing Atmos enabled home theatre speaker set-up with all the speakers mounted in the ceiling as well as the front/rear/centre speakers and sub-woofer or just using whatever speakers the TV has, the point s there are so many options that will 'work' - even many of those that perhaps aren't 'specifically' made for or state they will work with Xbox will work when plugged in to the Controller.

So again, its totally up to you and if you only want something for communication, there are numerous options available too. None I could personally recommend as I don't use a headset that way so can't tell you which to 'buy', just that there are many options available. I can't tell you if the Mic quality or audio speech quality will be anything more than 'adequate', etc but as I said, I have used my PS5 headset wired and it was more than adequate because my wireless Xbox headset needed charging so I can't see you struggling to find 'something' to suit your own personal needs...

@BAMozzy I don't have my system yet, what mm headphone jack does it use?
What's the length of the jack too?
I know some devices need differentlengths.

That was exactly what I was looking for. CTIA is what I need to get.
You are very helpful, thank you!
