I heard of the backwards compatibility went with Xbox over Playstation. I had a PS3 in the past. Today I got an XBOX X Series and downloaded 'Battlefield 1943' & 'Call of Duty: World at War + map pack bundle' to play online. I was a little amused to learn I had to pay an online subscription fee to play these online but ok, the last hurdle, back to nostalgia. After signing up for the subscription($14.99 a month) I am still being told from each game when trying to play online, either "Your gamer profile does not have the correct permission to access XBOX LIVE functionality" or "The current gamer profile is not allowed to play on Xbox LIVE."
I've tried searching for a phone number to call someone about this but cannot find anyway to get a hold of anyone from the XBOX support team. I've tried resetting the console, turning it off and on again. Closing the game and reopening it. Should I request a refund? I know BF1943 will not be playable after the end of this year but I knew that going in. Is there something I am overlooking? Help.
Did you get these via Microsoft Store? I searched Google in regards to the error messages, and from what I found it is due to age restriction setup on the Xbox. Need to check if your account and what settings it has eg. adult. Also, might be a silly question, but is the Xbox Live account standard or Gold? If you got the standard, then that might be the issue on your profile.

I was able to get a hold of someone from Xbox support and they walked me through it. I had to delete the profiles from within the xbox360 sub menu and sign back in and redownload the profiles for each game and now they work.
@QuarterPanL make the most of battlefield 1943. Looks like it's being delisted from sale in a couple days with the online being switched off completely toward the end of the year
