Banjo-

I moved my Series X to a bedroom with no Ethernet like the other rooms, but poor WiFi, for a few days and when I launch a Game Pass game, I get this message,

"For this game, you need to be online. Use this Xbox regularly? Make it your home Xbox so you can play games you own, even offline. Next time you're online, go to Settings, General, Personalisation, My Home Xbox."

I did that days ago and it does not work yet! The "Make this my home Xbox" box is ticked and I don't share my account with anyone else. What's going on?

Sorry my man, I don't know the exact reason...BUT I can say that when you connect the Xbox to another network, sometimes makes crazy things like that.

One day, my Xbox was offline (I don't know if it was due to a power outage or a problem with the router) and even though I connected it again to the Ethernet, it kept saying that it was offline. Then, I connected it to the WiFi and was "online" but didn't load any of the online features on the Dashboard.

I don't remember what I did to solve the issue - I think I restarted the console a couple of times, and then it came back to being online again with the new network.

@HarmanSmith There are also a few routers here linked together and there is Ethernet in the living room which is great. That bedroom is at one end of the house so it barely receives the WiFi signal. The weird thing is that I set the console to Home console as the Xbox website says, but I get the same error whenever the console gets offline because can't receive the WiFi signal at all times. It should launch Game Pass games even when it's offline.

@Banjo- Hey Banjo! I'm sorry, that sucks.
Sometimes I get a weird error where I have a disc inserted but the Xbox keeps asking me to either buy the game or insert the disc. Doing a full reset fixes it. If you go into settings and then I think it's called Power options you can click on restart.
Hopefully it works.

@Utena-mobile Thanks, I tried that. It's not an issue that happens every time. I know my console is set to "Home" because I've been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Game Pass. I just wrote something about launching Game Pass titles and Quick Resume just minutes ago:

If you ask me, Quick Resume is the best new feature of the whole generation, but I'd like to share something with you guys that have problems with it, assuming you are not trying to use it for Xbox & Xbox 360 backwards compatible games.

Sometimes, I move my Series X around the house, and I've realised that if the WiFi signal is weak, it will give me a few problems with Game Pass titles, as the console checks if it's online or offline and if I'm currently subscribed, even when it's defined as my "Home console". In my experience, it's better to have a good internet signal or set the console to Offline and "Home console" if not. That said, when the internet connection is fine, I never have issues with Quick Resume and launching Game Pass titles.

Most importantly, we should use Quick Resume as a time-saver and not turn the Xbox off if the game has not saved, just in case.
