Topic: Ideas for better internet at a hotel

I am currently displaced from my home and currently am forced to live in a hotel for the time being, sadly the internet sucks here and not great for gaming or even downloading games at all. I was wondering if anyone knows a work around this sort of thing. I have tried using my smartphone as a hotspot but unfortunately I hit some sort of cap on the data and it's not much better then the hotel wi-fi.

I thought about maybe calling my local ISP to see if they can do something like maybe back when I had an apartment.

Just wondering if anyone else has suggestions that I haven't thought of cause this internet is killing me.

@Tasuki the only thing I can think of is getting a data only sim card for your phone with unlimited data. I know you are in the US but over here in the UK there is an unlimited data SIM for £35/month. Maybe there is something similar over there?

Check Ts&C's though, make sure that WiFi tethering is allowed (should be ok on a data only sim).

I know it's a bit of a rubbish solution but it's the only one I can think of at the moment. Maybe somebody else can think of something better

Sorry to hear about your situation too (I read it in the chit chat thread). I hope you are back up on your feet soon.

See ya!
