Naturally, our 2024 Xbox Game Pass lineup is a bit all over the place right now. We have quite a few games coming to the service next year already, but lots are carried over from 2023 and don't have specific release dates just yet. However, one title that does have a confirmed date is indie adventure Open Roads - and it's probably our most-anticipated Game Pass title that has a specific arrival date right now.

We've had our eyes firmly locked onto this one ever since we first saw it at The Game Awards way back in 2020. It comes from some of the minds behind Gone Home and Tacoma - also featuring star talent like Keri Russell of Star Wars fame and Kaitlyn Dever of Booksmart fame. Combine that with its gorgeous art style and interesting premise, and we're very hyped to go hands on with it.

Here's an introduction to what the team is crafting with Open Roads on Xbox Game Pass:

"One fine fall day, Tess Devine and her mother, Opal, discover a cache of old notes and letters carefully stashed away in the attic of their house. Hints of deep-rooted family secrets, decades-old burglaries, a lost treasure somewhere near the Canadian border... What they uncover suggests a much darker mystery, best left well enough alone.

But that’s not going to happen.

In Open Roads, Tess and Opal embark on a road trip adventure to explore a series of long-abandoned family properties, unearthing the past. They’ll search the ruins of these places that hold buried memories, things Opal has tried for years to forget. And in this search, they'll discover not just the truth they've been seeking, but each other."

Something about virtual road trips featuring interesting stories and characters just gets us all giddy - our love affair with the idea was heightened by the fantastic Road 96 and we're hoping Open Roads can deliver some of those same feels when it hits Game Pass next year.

Anyway, it's coming out real soon — February 22nd in fact — so we don't have to wait too much longer until we can hit the open roads on Xbox Game Pass.

Will you be taking part in this virtual road trip? Tell us what you think to the title so far!
