Talking Point: Xbox Should Use And Improve This New PlayStation Store Feature

The Xbox Store is pretty good for hosting regular digital sales that often provide some huge discounts, but navigating them isn't always the easiest, and they don't always display all the information we'd like to see. Often, when covering these for Pure Xbox we use external sites like Deku Deals to track price history and such - and a new PlayStation Store update has implemented something similar directly on the console storefront.

As covered by our good friends over at Push Square, a new PS Store feature is rolling out now that showcases a game's 30-day price history right on the game's store page. The above example shows Gears of War: Reloaded - which is currently 25% off on PS5, and that's showing up as the lowest price on the platform for the last 30 days.

And, after reading this - we'd love to see something like this implemented on the Xbox Store! In fact, we'd like to see it improved and expanded; 30 days is useful but what about the last 12-months, or maybe even whether the current sale price is the lowest it's ever been? That would be mega useful when browsing all of the regular sales promotions we see on Xbox these days.

We're definitely grateful for these third-party sites that provide such information, but having that directly on sale pages will massively benefit the end user, and we just think it's worth having that info displayed front and centre when things are on sale. A 'lowest price ever' tag is definitely something that would tempt us into adding games to the backlog when they're discounted!
