So, we want to know if you're going to be trying out EA's big Skate reboot when it launches on September 16th. As we just mentioned, that initial release is indeed the game's early access launch - but its free-to-play nature does make it tempting to boot up and have a bash on Xbox Series X|S next week. Will you be doing just that?
This game feels like it's been in development for an age, and we're not sure what to expect from it to be honest. A Skate reboot is right up our alley here at the Pure Xbox offices and we're certainly intrigued by it - but it has some convincing to do for us to be fully back on board with EA's famous skating series, especially considering its free-to-play nature is quite a big departure from older Skate games.
"Experience improved Flick-It controls, the rich physics based skateboarding gameplay that provides those “only in skate.™“ moments and off-board exploration for full freedom in the online multiplayer world of San Vansterdam."
Skate also has some stiff competition from Tony Hawk these days. Sure, we're still waiting for a proper new entry in that series (wishful thinking, we reckon), but Pro Skater 1+2 and 3+4 have firmly put the Activision series back on the map in recent years. Will EA's Skate reboot be able to compete? We'll have to wait to see how this one evolves over time.
