Community Achievements Will Help Real-World Animals in Zoo Tycoon

There's no way anyone can find fault with this.
While some people see achievements and Gamescore as being nothing but pointless frippery, Frontier Developments' upcoming Zoo Tycoon is set to be the first title where achievements can actually affect things that happen in the real world.
ExpansiveDLC sat down with Frontier's Jonny Watts, who confirmed that Microsoft are heavily investing in donating to animal-related charities, with donations based on dynamic community-based achievements in the Xbox One version of the game. Achievements will be added to the game post-launch, that reflect real-world events. When players unlock the achievements as a community, cash will be given to the charity that is best poised to assist in the related area.
Watts said: "Take for example the recent Rhino killings in Nairobi park – we could set a community based achievement asking players to save 10,000 rhinos, and when unlocked money would be given to the park or a related charity."
That's absolutely nothing but good news, and we take our hats off to Frontier and Microsoft.
