Is anyone else excited to see a bit of mindless carnage, courtesy of Carmageddon: Max Damage? I'd heard rumours it was coming but it's now available to pre-order. Price (at time of writing) is between £26 and £30 depending on your preferred supplier. I must admit to spending quite a few hours playing the original and the sequel on my PC. Anyone else remember the 'blood patch' to replace 'zombie green blood' with err...human red blood? Took me literally hours to download on a 56Kb/s dial-up modem.
I remember playing this a lot when it first came out... can't say I specifically remember the blood patch, just thought it was always blood? Used to love it though... pretending I was David Carradine and mindlessly squishing everything that moved. Not so sure how long it would remain entertaining now though as gaming (on the whole) has become a lot more sophisticated. Definitely interested though, so long as it hasn't been watered down to make it more socially acceptable!
@crippyd: Imagine Forza combined with Wolfenstein but without guns and you'd be getting there. Choose your car, track and then score points for wrecking your opponents cars and killing as many pedestrians as you can before the end of the "race". Sounds terrible in writing but boy was it a lot of fun!
I'm seriously tempted to get this. £26 isn't bad considering it still looks like the PC version I played over a decade ago. Just watched the trailer again (which is very violent) and LOL'd at the commentary shouting "wrecked em" (which sounds like they are saying rectum) when there is a crash. <Cue childish schoolboy in me...fnar fnar>
The list of chievos is available on TA now too if anyone else is interested.
You don't stop gaming because you get old, you get old because you stop gaming.
