Redfall DLC Cancelled As Developer Arkane Austin Gets Closed Down By Xbox

Update: Redfall developer Arkane Austin says players "will be eligible to receive the value of the [DLC] upgrade", while Bethesda Support adds that the team is "working to finalize details for the Redfall credit program".

Original Aricle: Remember Redfall's planned DLC? Well, it never actually existed in any meaningful way, but two additional characters were announced around the launch of the game - and they'll no longer be releasing. Microsoft has closed the developer — Arkane Austin — and cancelled the release of its Redfall DLC packs.

This revelation comes alongside the shocking news that Xbox is closing four Bethesda studios as part of another massive restructure over at Microsoft. You can read more about this move down below, with details continuing to break as we speak.

As for Redfall and its previously planned add-ons, Microsoft has provided some information for users who purchased the DLC content. In an internal email outed by IGN, Xbox's Matt Booty says that the company will "provide make-good offers to players who purchased the Hero DLC". For now, we have no idea what these 'make-good offers' will consist of.

"Redfall’s previous update will be its last as we end all development on the game. The game and its servers will remain online for players to enjoy and we will provide make-good offers to players who purchased the Hero DLC."

We're hoping that Microsoft provides a public update on this shortly, and we'll bring you any more information on Xbox's Redfall DLC fiasco as soon as we hear it.
