@nomither6 the control difference with M&K is vastly superior. Targeting, macro scripting, multiple bars of control triggers.
As an example, I had to VASTLY simplify my build, playstyle, class, control triggers to get the controller build to work adequately. Once you get above 24 skills it becomes a hassle. But M&K it's second nature to run 48+ skills. Shaman for instance with its button bloat was a pain on controller. Evoker however was pretty good. Demon Hunter was great with its minimal skills set. Edit: I mean this specifically for WoW. FF14 has been very successful with full controller support since forever but its a far less complex class system.
@RTGX to your point, controller play is in no way equal to Mouse & Keyboard. But it is a very adequate alternative. It took me about a month to get the muscle memory down. I was able to get to Keystone Master 1st two seasons before quitting. A relatively low bar, but all entirely on controller. Good times. But M&K is without question far superior.
This has been in retail since Dragonflight. You can make your own custom controls that translate to SteamDeck or an Xbox controller. Its surprisingly easy. The ONLY hitch is the targeting quests and mini-games do not translate well due to the mouse controlled targeting reticle. I was forced to switch to controller from medical issues so I quite enjoyed Dragonflight with this. Stepped back from the game the last couple years. Edit: @rivergenie beat me to it. We've been beating the drum of 'coming soon to console' for like...16 years. Don't hold your breath. Starcraft has a chance but Blizz seems to be in control right now.
