@NEStalgia Right now as it stands Nintendo are very much the white knight of the industry. While almost every other developer is cutting jobs , Nintendo have increased pay to their employees and continues to hire industry talent. The Switch itself has refined gaming by taking restrictions off of home gaming and highlighting portability. They have opened up a new wave of portable gaming which allows gamers the ability to play anytime, anywhere (Steam Deck, Asus ROG, PS Portal etc… all say thank you!) That’s a major boon to industry. In the same breath as the industry undergoes a very challenging time, with questions abound about the future of the industry…here comes Nintendo launching a gaming museum to celebrate gaming and its industry. Nintendo is very much thriving when the industry itself as a whole is not. They’re not the perfect company but they’ve really stood on their own this gen, it’s been impressive.
It is becoming increasingly annoying how storage has become such a hindrance to gaming. I’d say storage is the primary reason I don’t play my Series X as much as I should. It’s a great system , you just need that storage to really take advantage of all the value Gamepass offers. The size of some of these updated tho 🙄
I’ve been in a bit of an Xbox lull ! I always have the intention to play some games on the system but I just never get around to it. I still have MW2 and Elden Ring in their packaging! It’s that bad lol. I’ve been mainly gaming on my Switch so there’s some method to the madness. I think Gamepass is a great service if not overwhelming to find time for all those offerings. I’ll need to work out a system that will have me taking advantage of the value it offers, this gen got off to a slower start but there’s still a ton of great games on deck.
I hear you! I purchased my Series X around the same time as you. I really do think it’s an amazing system but I just haven’t played it much. Gamepass is great but for whatever reason I just haven’t been as compelled to play through my games, really need to change that. I have been playing a ton of Switch games so that could be part of the blame. Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty sweet, I’d say it’s worth a physical purchase once it leaves
