I've been supporting the devs by buying their games for both myself and 2 others in my friend group, own both SoD1 &Breakdown, YOSE, 2 and Heartland, bought both on Xbox and on Steam because I loved the gameplay loop.
Since State of Decay 2 re-released on steam you could reroll characters for hours and never see a white person unless it's legacy characters from the first game, it's ok to be fictionally racist.
When the devs allowed content creators to play a test build of the game I asked if we are finally getting playable white characters and got permabanned from both the discord and the official twitch channel via the discord links I had.
Just me personally, I will pirate the game and encourage my friends to do so too
