Re: Former PlayStation Exec Says 'The Game Is Changing' As Xbox Goes Multiplatform

@Kaloudz I guess we will have to wait and see how this plays out. Xbox already has less third party support than Ps, bg3 delayed aka timed exclusivity essentially, wukong, sh2 remake as the first to come to kind that I would play. I fail to see how this strategy will make that any better going forward. Game pass has value, but will it remain as good or as well priced remains to be seen. Barriers going down is great, but as of right now the barriers are only going down for one set of gamers.

@Kaloudz Game pass is banging this year for me. It would need to stay the same price and offer year over year the quality of 2025 for me to even consider sticking around. I would keep my series x to play my library of course, but if I can get gears, elder scrolls, silent hill and other exclusives all in one place next Gen? Yeah, it jusy doesn't make sense not to. Hopefully things start heading thr other way too and Xbox feeds on Sony stuff before the next Gen because I much prefer the Xbox interface and controller, so I'd rather stay green.

Timed exclusives is the answer for everyone. If Xbox and playstation made all their games timed exclusives, say a year for instance. You'll still be giving your player base the first crack at your first party games when they're new and hot, which will still incentivize hardware sales. But if you're like me who owns a SX and will never own a playstation, you can get some bonus revenue by moving it over after a year and getting some sales from an audience you can't possibly sell to because they don't own your product. Kinda blends the best of both worlds.

@nomither6
Do laptops or steam decks come with a dock that is connected to your television with the explicit design that it be slid in and convert instantly from handheld to TV? It's extremely clear that your mind is made up and you think you're right no matter what is provided to you, so have a good day. Enjoy some games. I'll enjoy my switch as both a home console and handheld.

I have owned every Xbox console and after OG era, it has been my only gaming console until I got a switch. Haven't had a PS since ps2. Im older and don't have time to game like I did before, but I definitely think there's enough on the Xbox to keep me busy. However, for the next Gen, there's literally no reason I wouldn't get a PS over an Xbox. It'll give me access to ALL the games as opposed to only some, which will mean I'd get to play whatever I want, from one console. And like I said, I don't do the buy both Xbox and playstation. So if I'm buying one next Gen, it's gonna be a Ps even though I like the Xbox controller and interface much better.
