We've already highlighted a few particularly interesting new under-the-radar releases coming to Xbox this week, such as the SEGA Saturn game Culdcept The First Saturn Tribute and the 2000s-style FPS Sprawl Zero, but there are also a few horror releases that we reckon are worth keeping an eye on at least.
The game you see in the picture up above is The Alighieri Circle: Dante's Bloodline, which is actually described as a psychological thriller, but certainly features plenty of horror-like elements including jump scares. Previews have shared mixed impressions about this one, but here's hoping the final release on September 10th will impress. For what it's worth, there's a free demo you can check out on the Xbox Store right now:
Another one we're curious by is BrokenLore: DON'T LIE, which is a Japanese psychological horror game "exploring trauma, isolation, and a fractured reality where perception becomes increasingly unreliable". There are quite a lot of these BrokenLore games on the market (and we've admittedly never played any of them), but they seem to get a mostly positive reception overall, despite some people suggesting they're devoid of much actual gameplay and only seem to have a running time of about an hour each. For what it's worth, DON'T LIE is a spin-off of another game in the series called DON'T WATCH, which is already on Xbox.
And finally, Halloween: The Game is releasing properly today after its early access launch last week, the reviews of which are "Mostly Positive" on Steam and 72 on Metacritic as things stand. You're looking at a price of £33.49 / $39.99 to get the standard edition, which goes live for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in a few hours' time.
