Fable Appears To Have At Least Two Different Graphics Modes On Xbox Series X

We're going to see more details on Fable this week as part of Xbox's Gamescom broadcasts, but another story that's doing the rounds about the game right now is that it apparently will support up to 60FPS on Xbox Series X.

Loads of people have been sharing this on social media, and it comes from a description on Xbox's official Fable page that mentions the game being "optimised for XBOX Series X|S consoles supporting 4K Ultra HD, HDR and 60 FPS".

We've also come across a supposed Facebook post from June where the Fable team mentioned both 30FPS and 60FPS graphics modes. This has been shared by Xbox Infinite, but we haven't been able to locate the original post.

Despite all of this, we wouldn't take it as confirmation just yet that we'll definitely get Fable at 60FPS on Xbox Series X. These game pages sometimes use quite generic wording to describe the capabilities of a console rather than the specific game itself, while the original post about 30FPS and 60FPS is hard (if not impossible) to locate as mentioned.

You can also see that the description suggests 60FPS on Xbox Series S as well, which seems an ambitious aim for such a detailed and expansive new release. That said, Playground Games has managed to ship 60FPS modes for Forza Horizon on the Series S, so perhaps they'll be able to work their magic again here.

We'll let you know when there's actual definitive confirmation about all of this, but in the meantime we'd love to hear from you in the comments about whether you think we're looking at 60FPS on both Xbox Series X and S for Fable!
