The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 on PlayStation didn't bring about any changes to the Xbox versions in terms of how they play, but a few changes were evidently made to the how they've been priced on the Microsoft Store.
To be honest, we don't tend to track DLC price changes all that often, but lots of people have been reporting over the past few days that over 30 pieces of DLC have suddenly become free for Black Ops 2 specifically.
The full list of all 32 DLC is as follows:
- Africa Pack
- Afterlife Pack
- Aqua Pack
- Asia-Pacific Pack
- Bacon Pack
- Beast Pack
- Benjamins Pack
- Breach Pack
- Comics Pack
- Coyote Pack
- Cyborg Pack
- Dead Man's Hand Pack
- Dia de Muertos Pack
- Dragon Pack
- Europe Pack
- Extra Slots Pack
- Glam Pack
- Graffiti Pack
- Jungle Warfare Pack
- Kawaii Pack
- North America Pack
- Nuketown 2025 Pack
- Octane Pack
- Pack-A-Punch Pack
- Paladin Pack
- Party Rock Pack
- Rogue Pack
- South America Pack
- UK Punk Pack
- Viper Pack
- Weaponized 115 Pack
- Zombies Pack
The vast majority of this stuff is just things like skins and calling cards, but it's still all well worth downloading if you have access to Black Ops 2 already. Don't forget that if you have the Xbox 360 version of Black Ops 2 in physical form, you can just put the disc into an Xbox One or Series X and get access to the game at no extra charge!
As for everyone else, we're hoping that Black Ops 1 and 2 might get a discount as part of the upcoming Xbox Summer Sale, but there's no evidence of that as things stand. The current price feels very high for a couple of games that aren't at their best on Xbox (mainly due to the servers), but we've seen them discounted to as low as $14.99 in the past.
And for what it's worth, we've noticed these games creeping into the "Top Paid" Xbox charts. Both of them are inside the top 100 as things stand even at full price, so a discount could propel them into the #1 and #2 spots quite easily!
