Forza Horizon 6 Is Immensely Popular Already, Even In Early Access

It's well-documented at this point that Microsoft first-party games such as Forza Horizon 6 launch day one for Game Pass on Xbox and PC - yet despite that, some releases still perform very well outside of the subscription service. And, well, that seems to be happening with Playground's new open-world racer, and we're not even out of early access yet.

Taking a quick look at SteamDB — the database that tracks sales numbers and player counts for PC titles — Forza Horizon 6 has just surpassed 150,000 concurrent players on the platform. Right now, you have to pay for a whopping £109.99 / $119.99 fee to be able to play the game on Steam, making this an even more impressive feat.

The thing with this data too, is that it only covers Steam PC sales; nothing outside of that like console or Xbox for PC players. Factoring in Xbox Series X|S users, we're likely talking hundreds of thousands of players hopping onto Forza Horizon 6 early access at one time, and that's only going to grow as the day goes on and more people jump online.

It's looking like a very, very successful release for Xbox and Playground Games, then - both critically and commercially. We — along with many others — have been very impressed with what the team has delivered, and in terms of the commercial side of things, we still have the main Xbox, PC and Game Pass release to come - not to mention PS5 somewhere down the line. Big congratulations to Playground for their success with Forza Horizon 6 so far!
