Yesterday marked the release day for Square Enix's Life is Strange: Reunion, but there wasn't a whole lot of fanfare around it - mainly because the reviews were so few and far between.
We don't exactly know what's happened here, but the Metro reported that their review copy only arrived on the same day as release (March 26th), and that they suspected most other outlets would be in the same boat.
"We’re afraid to say there’ll be no review for Life Is Strange: Reunion from us today or, we suspect, anyone else. That’s because Square Enix only sent out review copies in the last few minutes, after previously indicating that they wouldn’t arrive until launch day."
That's a weird situation for sure, but we're pleased to report that it doesn't seem to be related to the quality of the game itself! In fact, Life is Strange: Reunion has a "Very Positive" score on Steam based on just over 300 user ratings so far, while the vast majority of impressions we've spotted on the Xbox Store have been 5/5 stars.
Here's what one person had to say about it on the Xbox Store (we've taken out bits that could be considered spoilers!):
Monkeman078878 on Xbox Store: "This felt like a great and satisfying end to this series... I have no complaints...."
We haven't had a chance to play Life is Strange: Reunion here at Pure Xbox yet, but the ever-reliable Fuzion Xbox Testing has shared some gameplay from the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions which we'll leave down below. The TL;DR is that it looks good across both consoles, and runs at 60FPS on Series X and 30FPS on Series S.
Here are those Xbox comparison videos, and we hope you enjoy LiS: Reunion if you pick it up this weekend!
