Today's big Xbox release is that of Highguard - a new free-to-play title developed by people who worked on the Titanfall and Apex Legends games, and one that's been getting a ton of attention since being unveiled at The Game Awards.

We've already talked about the reviews for Highguard — they range from extremely positive to extremely negative depending on who you ask — but what about the performance across Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?

As usual, we've picked up the Fuzion Xbox Testing videos for this comparison, and they highlight a game that's running well across both systems, but perhaps suffers a bit in the visuals department in certain circumstances.

On Xbox Series X, Highguard is suggested to be running at a native 1108p with an output of 1440p, and the visuals look decent for the most part, albeit with a lack of detail in some of the textures at times. There's no 120FPS mode for this one, but the 60FPS gameplay appears to be very solid with no noticeable drops.

On Xbox Series S, Highguard definitely looks a fair bit softer than on the more powerful console, and it's said to be running at a native 720p with an output of 1080p. The crucial thing is that it seems to be running at a solid 60FPS.

It's still early days for Highguard, and it'll be interesting to see how it develops over the coming days, weeks and months — not only from a performance and visuals standpoint, but also in terms of its reception and size of its playerbase.

For now, we'll throw those two gameplay videos of Highguard from the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions down below, along with a roadmap of content that's already been unveiled for the game over on social media.
