Bloodlines 2 Gets A New Roadmap, Despite Publisher Admitting It's Been A Commercial Flop

When Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 finally made its way to Xbox and other platforms after years of development struggles back in October, it received quite a mixed reaction from players and critics alike, and unfortunately that's translated into poor commercial performance according to publisher Paradox Interactive.

Nevertheless, the game has just received a brand-new roadmap of content for 2026, with the development team set to deliver a Valentine's Update on February 11th, followed by two expansions later in the year.

Here's a look at that roadmap:

Bloodlines 2 Gets A New Roadmap, Despite Paradox Admitting It Was A Commercial Failure 2

This week, Paradox admitted that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 had not met the company's "commercial expectations", and therefore the game had been written down. Paradox's revenue was still up 23% year-on-year for the period from October to December, but their operating profit was down 162%.

Here's a bit of what CEO Fred Wester had to say about this:

"We closed the year with our most intense quarter in company history. With two new game releases, one remaster, and DLCs for most titles, we held a pace that truly demonstrates the strength of our organisation and our portfolio. The core business delivered strong performance with high revenues and solid cash flow. However, the results for the period were impacted by currency headwinds and the write-down of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, as the game did not meet our commercial expectations. At the same time, this marks an important turning point: we are now strengthening our strategic focus, reallocating resources, and creating even better conditions for future investments where we have our greatest expertise and long-term potential."

It's not great news for Bloodlines 2, then, but we're glad to see they're not giving up on it, and it's worth noting that some of the reviews are pretty darn good for this game — Metro gave it an 8/10, GameReactor gave it an 8/10, PC Gamer gave it a 78/100, etc. The Xbox Store rating is a decent 3.9/5 as well.

If you fancy trying it for yourself, you can grab Bloodlines 2 on the Xbox Store at a price of £49.99 / $59.99, and there's also an Expansion Pass (included with the Ultimate Edition) that will feature the two new expansions later this year.
